Attachment-based therapy
A brief explanation of the basis for my therapy
As children, our initial attachment to our parents forms the basis for all relationships thereafter. If this is not a healthy attachment, our brains struggle to develop healthy relationships as we develop in life. Attachment-based therapy looks at how you relate to people, and why. From their, we can work out ways to address the underlying "wiring" of your relationships.
Developed by the paediatrician Bowlby, attachment-based therapy is internationally recognised and forms part of many modern schools of therapy. Having trained at the Bowlby Centre, founded by Dr Bowlby, my training is greater insight into this modality.
