About me

I’m Lucy Charlewood, an attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist. After completing an in-depth, four-year training in attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapy at The Bowlby Centre, I registered as a member of United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Alongside my private practice, I also teach trainee psychotherapists.

Having gone through my own extensive psychotherapy, I have first-hand experience of how profoundly life-changing a process it can be.

While my heritage is British, I was born and brought up in South Africa. I have lived in London and south-east England since 2000. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I had a creative career, first as a fine artist then as a designer and art director in the marketing, media and communications sector as well as in film and television post-production. I have also worked in the charity sector.
